MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a therapy that is commonly used to treat Primary and Secondary Lymphoedema. It is gentle, non-invasive technique that has a great effect on the body and the bodies systems.  Activating the lymphatic system and encouraging the flow of lymph impacts the organs such as the liver, kidneys, heart and lungs and in doing so stimulates the bodies natural cleansing processes, encouraging detoxification and increased energy.
MLD helps the body by maintaining a healthy environment around the cells and by stimulating the bodies immune system function. This can help in many ways,  such as; Supporting healing of sports injuries, softening scar tissue, providing relief for non-toxic related inflammation,  reduction of oedema, relief of headaches caused by fluid build up, activation of the sympathetic nervous system to bring calmness to stress and strength to the immune system.
